Introduction: Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) is a way or method of treating BBLR, where there is direct skin contact between mother and baby making automatic adjustments to the mother's body temperature to protect the baby. stability of heart rate and breathing, reduced calorie use, better baby weight gain, longer baby sleep time, better baby-mother's close relationship (bounding) and will reduce the occurrence of infections in babies. The implementation of KMC in the hospital is about 1 to 4 o'clock by the parents of the baby. This study aims to determine the effect of the two-hour duration of Kangaroo Mother Care on Weight Gain in BBLR babies in hospitals. Method: This study, using the Quasi-Experiment Pr test - Posttest One Group Design design where the experimental research carried out in one group only called the intervention group without any comparison group or control group, was carried out in the baby room of Wonosari Hospital Yogyakarta from June and July 2022 with a sample of a total population of 24 babies. Results: There is an effect of the two-hour duration of Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) on the increase in Body Weight and body temperature in BBLR Babies in Hospitals. with a p value of 0.000. Discussion: KMC is a method that is proven to increase weight in BBPL so that other researchers need to examine other variables, including the effect of KMC on body temperature. Increased Head Circumference, baby sleep activities and others, so that more benefits will be known in Low Birth Weight Babie.
